BlueBarn Policy Statement and Objectives
BlueBarn realises that it is likely to have an impact on the local environment in which it operates. It is our POLICY to ensure we operate so as to limit any adverse outcomes so far as reasonably practicable. We will always aim to preserve or better still improve the prevailing ecosystem.
At the same time we adhere strictly to all necessary health and safety at work procedures and expect those standards to be met by all our subcontractors, visitors and helpers. They are also required to adhere to the relevant environmental legislation and regulation as a minimum standard and where possible conduct themselves in a way so that their performance and results exceed both the legal requirements clients’ expectations.
In the event of an environmental accident or incident at work BlueBarn will report the incident promptly to the appropriate authority and landowner, assist with investigations, and any remedial action required to make good any damage done or foreseen.
In the execution of the services provided BlueBarn aim to use the minimum of intervention to achieve the requirement. To that end small machinery is preferred, grass tyres will be used as opposed to more aggressive agricultural tyres or tracks. Hand tools will be used where possible but where mechanical assistance is preferable and balanced decision will be made for their use.
Policy Objectives
In accordance with its stated policy, BlueBarn has produced the following list of worksite aims:
- Compliance with current environmental legislation and statutory regulations at all times.
- Comply with the relevant Health and Safety Legislation at all times.
- React swiftly to accidents or incidents that may have an environmental consequence.
- Use the most appropriate and effective waste disposal means available.
- Promote procedures, processes and products that preserve the environment.
- Ensure training for all operations undertaken has been completed by all employees.
- To carry out environmental and Health and Safety audits whenever required, making its employees, landowners and others aware of its conclusions and recommendations.
- In implementing this Environmental Policy Statement, the Company will focus on action to conserve resources and energy, to minimise emissions into air or water and onto land and to increase recycling rates.
- BlueBarn will actively engage with he relevant authorities in obtaining their advice and approval for its operations, providing feedback if required and assisting with public knowledge and information as required.
